Preclinical Services

Charlesson provides a number of ophthalmic preclinical services to pharmaceutical companies and academic researchers. We have a skilled team of retinal surgeons and scientists that perform the experiments on a contract basis. Several study designs are available including proof-of-concept and masked studies. Our novel animal models are useful for screening anti-inflammatory and anti-angiogenic compounds that are in development for treating retinal diseases.  For more information, on our disease models, please click on the links on the left panel.

Many routes of administration are available, including: topical eyedrop administration, intravitreal injection, retrobulbar injection, subretinal injection, intraperitoneal injection and oral gavage.
